Affiliate Reporting Requirements

1. Activities and financial report are to be submitted via email by 31^st August to info@mascavictoria.com so that MASCA can print them. These reports will be distributed to all members and attendees of AGM. Should you not have your reports ready by 31^st August, then you will have to print out hard copies (at least 20) and bring them along to the AGM.
2. Chairperson (or elected representative) of the association will be given 5 minutes to present a summary during AGM. Please prepare this beforehand and be short and concise because we are running on a tight schedule. Powerpoint presentations are welcomed, however please provide the file beforehand and keep in mind the time limit.

Positions up for Nomination

1. For MASCA Victoria Committee 2010/2001, there is a proposed committee structure change. This will be explained during the AGM.
2. 2. There will be 14 positions open for nomination. Nominations must be made in writing, signed by 2 members of the association and delivered to info@mascavictoria.com before 31^st August. Nomination forms are attached. Nomination will not be available on the day of AGM.
3. All nominations will be reviewed by the MASCA Victoria Executive Committee and MASCA Victoria reserves the right to reject any nomination.

Voting Powers

1. Voting rights are only given to affiliate clubs. This includes MoMU, MUMSU, MaSS Caulfield, MSA LaTrobe, MSA RMIT, EHSAN, MHRC, and VMPGA. Observer and non-registered clubs such as KUAM and Petrovic are not entitled to any votes.
2. Each MSO is to send 4 members representing the Executive Committee and will be given 4 votes. In the event that not all four can be present, a vote by proxy can be made. A proxy form is attached and must be submitted no later than 3^rd September to info@mascavictoria.com
3. Each current MASCA Victoria committee member will be entitled to 1 vote.
4. Voting on the day itself will be by means of a show of raised hands. The votes will then be counted towards the final tally.

1. Any other additional business/agenda to be raised in the meeting can be sent through to info@mascavictoria.com by 31^st August.

Malaysia is a progressive nation that has a huge potential to emerge as a developed country in 2020. This has been envisioned by former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad during his 22 years tenure. En route to achieving this Vision 2020, human capital plays a pivotal role in steering the direction of the country. Undeniably, students are the catalyst for realising the ambition of this young nation, particularly those who are studying overseas. It is believed that there is a need for a platform to motivate these students towards inculcating the values of leadership and critical-thinking that would inspire them to contribute to the nation building upon graduation.

In the spirit of 1Malaysia, an effort to bring together Malaysian students in Victoria, Australia on intellectual grounds has been fruitful after a discussion amongst a group of motivated students had culminated in the First MASCA Student Leadership Forum (MSLF) 2009.

The forum held on the 29^th of August 2009 saw 200 students from diverse backgrounds come together to discuss issues revolving Unity in Malaysia as the forum was themed ‘Road-to-Unity’. The panellists, being students themselves, were especially amazed at the participation of the attendees. The audience was highly participative throughout the question and answer session.

What is the program (MAP) about?

Judging from the impact of the event, MSLF 2009 is certainly a tour-de-force. In 2010, MASCA Victoria has decided to host a similar event but with a broader target audience and incorporating more experienced speakers who are specialists in their respective fields. The event will be in the form of a Forum in which 3 speakers will speak on socio-economic issues that Malaysia faces; for instance, new avenues of economic growth, political will, social structure, contemporary efforts by various organisations and etcetera, in its quest to attain the status of a developed country by year 2020.

The forum aims to gather Malaysian students in Victoria on the intellectual and scholastic ground as it is generally accepted that the most promising graduates are those who can speak up on issues affecting the country and the world at large.
